Bhilai, May 24: In response to rising concerns over water scarcity, the civic authorities in Bhilai have launched a large-scale “Save Water” awareness campaign across the city. The initiative, spearheaded by the municipal corporation in collaboration with local schools and NGOs, aims to educate residents about the importance of water conservation and sustainable usage.
As part of the drive, rallies were organized in multiple sectors, with students and volunteers carrying placards bearing messages like “Every Drop Counts” and “Save Water, Save Life.” Awareness programs, street plays, and workshops were conducted to encourage practices such as rainwater harvesting, fixing leakages, and minimizing water wastage in households.
Officials stated that the campaign comes at a crucial time, as groundwater levels in several parts of the city have shown a declining trend. Citizens have been urged to actively participate and adopt water-saving habits in their daily lives. The initiative has received a positive response so far, with many residents pledging to contribute towards conserving water and ensuring a sustainable future for the city.
